Affectionately referred to as ‘Africa’s grandest gathering’, the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) is currently one of the largest jazz festivals on the African continent and top five in the world, with varieties of performances by a mix of over 40 international and local artistes; and attendances from over 38,000 jazz and jazz-related music lovers.

What makes the proudly South African music festival famous is not only the deep rich history of South African Jazz and the unequalled vibrant atmosphere the event brings alive, but also the fact that it brings together people from all over the world in the soul and spirit of music. The star-studded line-up this year includes Grammy-nominated songwriter, Angie Stone (US); three-time solo bassist award-winner, Victor Wooten (USA); Grammy-nominated jack swing trio, SWV (USA); Grammy-nominated duo, Amadou & Mariam (Mali); classically trained trio, BadBadNotGood (Canada), Mafikizolo (SA), Tsepo Tshola (SA), Afrika Mkhize (SA) and many more.

The 2016 edition of the festival will take place at the accustomed Cape Town International Convention Centre, from Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd April 2016, on five different stages providing a weekend’s worth of performances by the various invited artistes.
